China to Build CMMB Networks in 6 Olympic Cities

According to China Business News, China's SARFT (State Administration of Radio, Film and Television) plans to build CMMB (China Mobile Multimedia Broadcasting) networks for mobile TV services in six Olympic cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Shenyang, Qingdao, and Qinhuangdao. At present, a trial network has already been set up in Beijing. According to the SARFT's schedule, CMMB commercialization is slated for commencement in the first half of 2008, in time for the Beijing Olympic Games.
